About Palakkad

Pa lakkad or Palghat is a beautiful city which is situated in southern India. The city is situated about 350 kilometers. It is a city consisting of panchayats and municipalities. Palakkad is the gateway to Kerala due to the presence of the Palakkad gap in the Western Ghats. The place is designed with many small and medium rivers. The temperatures remain moderate throughout the year except in March and April being the hottest months. The name Palakkad is a combination of two Malayalam words Pala, the name given for barren land and Kadu which means the forest. Palakkad is the largest city in Kerala State. It is known as the Rice bowl of Kerala. Palakkad is a historic place wich have Palakkad Fort, Ratholsavam, vela (Festival used to happen in temples), and the beautiful Malampuzha garden and Dam.
